Wuntanara Holiday in Guinea Conakry

16th February – 2nd March 2019 with Souleymane Compo and Vieux Bakayoko

Discover the beautiful country of Guinea Conakry – its rhythms, flavours, landscapes and culture. Don’t miss this African road trip of a lifetime!

Souleymane and Vieux are talented musicians, dancers and teachers as well as fluent English speakers. As they guide you through their native land you will be able to learn African drumming and dance, and visit the rural, coastal and urban parts of the country.

On arrival in Guinea, you will travel straight to Boké, a few hours north of the capital, Conakry, where you will stay at the Wuntanara Guest House and Drum and Dance School. In addition to your daily lessons, you can also take time out to swim in the Batafon River, shop in Boké market, learn about local history at the Museum of Boké, and more…

Next you will travel out to stay on the west coast, experiencing traditional fishing villages and idyllic beaches. You will stay near the beach and continue your drumming and/or dance lessons there. Between classes you can take a dip in the sea or relax under the palm trees.

Your visit to Guinea with Wuntanara will have a positive impact on local communities. Not only will you be providing employment for talented local artists, but your stay will also help to support local families and small businesses.

The holiday package costs £600. This includes accommodation, food, instrument hire, drumming and dance tuition, and travel within Guinea.
